Macallan Rare Cask Black

The Rare Cask was introduced in 2014 as a premium permanent addition to the 1824 range, which was marketed between 2012 and 2018. 

This is a one-off, relatively small release of less than 100 casks, predominantly first fill sherry casks of European and American oak.  Also within the mix were some casks containing unusually peated Macallan spirit, desired to impart a gently smoky edge.

This Macallan was released exclusively to global travel retail.
